Shipping Policy

1 Where we ship
We print in Mumbai and we currently deliver within Maharashtra only — Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, Aurangabad and every other Maharashtra pincode our logistics partner’s carriers reach.
The checkout will not accept a delivery address in another State. The State field is a list, not a free-text box, and an order to any other State is refused before you pay rather than cancelled afterwards. We know that’s a limit and we’re not hiding it: we’re a small studio, we’re deliberately keeping our supply inside one State for now, and we’ll say so on this page the day that changes.
We still check serviceability when we pack your order. If no carrier will deliver to your Maharashtra pincode, we cancel the order and refund you in full. We don’t hold your money while we work out whether we can get a parcel to you.
We do not ship outside India — see §8.
2 What shipping costs, and how you pay
Delivery within Maharashtra costs you nothing. It’s included in the price you see.
We do not add a delivery charge, a handling charge, a packaging charge, a fuel surcharge or a “convenience fee” at checkout or afterwards. The total on the cart page is the total you pay.
We’re prepaid only. There is no cash on delivery. Every order is paid for before it goes onto a print bed, because every piece is made with your name on it and can’t be sold to anyone else if it comes back. We know COD is convenient and we’re sorry not to offer it — it isn’t a judgement about you, it’s arithmetic about us.
3 How long it takes
There are two separate clocks, and it genuinely helps to know which is which. We commit firmly to the first one. We deliberately don’t put a number on the second, and §3.2 explains why.
3.1 Clock 1 — how long we take to make it and hand it to the courier
This clock is ours. It’s the one we’re accountable for.
- Every order — keychains and QR Code Stands alike — is dispatched within 5 working days of payment confirmation. One name or fifty, one flat promise.
- Bulk and corporate orders don’t run on this clock at all — they get their own written dispatch date with the quote. See §9.
Working days here mean Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in Maharashtra. If you pay on a Friday evening, a Saturday or a Sunday, the clock starts Monday.
Most orders go out well inside five days. We publish the number we can keep on our worst week, not the one that reads best.
We print to order; nothing is sitting in a box waiting. The printing itself is quick — a single-name keychain is about 4 minutes of machine time, and even a 50-name order is a little over 3 hours across our three machines. What actually sets the timeline is grouping your order with others by filament colour, changing spools, checking every piece, and getting it to the courier pickup.
If we’re going to miss our own dispatch date, we’ll email you before it passes, not after — and you can wait or cancel for a full refund if we haven’t printed yet.
3.2 Clock 2 — how long the courier takes to get it to you
We don’t publish a delivery estimate, and we’d rather tell you why than give you a number we can’t stand behind.
Your parcel is carried by whichever of our logistics partner’s courier companies serves your pincode. Transit time depends on that pincode and on which carrier gets assigned, and we have no control over either. So instead of printing a table of days that would be wrong for some of you:
- When your order is dispatched we email you, and where the courier gives us a tracking reference we include it. The carrier’s own delivery estimate appears there, against your actual address, and it updates as the parcel moves. That estimate is the carrier’s and it is better than anything we could put on this page.
- Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai and Pune are the quickest — often next-day or the day after. Nashik, Nagpur, Aurangabad and the other cities are close behind. Rural talukas and remote pincodes inside Maharashtra take materially longer, and that is the part of the map where a published day-count would be wrong most often.
- Festivals, weather, strikes and local restrictions add time, and there is no season in India when none of those is happening somewhere.
What this does not mean. It does not mean your parcel can disappear into the post and that’s your problem. §6 is the backstop: if it doesn’t arrive, tell us and we fix it. Our dispatch commitment in §3.1 is a real promise you can hold us to, and it is the part of the journey we actually run.
4 Who carries it, and tracking
We ship through a third-party multi-carrier logistics aggregator — a service that hands each parcel to whichever courier company covers your pincode best on the day. That’s why one small studio in Khar can reach a taluka in Vidarbha, and why we can’t tell you in advance whose van it will be on.
When your order leaves the studio we email you at the address on your order to say it has been dispatched, and we include whatever reference the courier gives us so you can follow it on their website. If the courier carrying your parcel doesn’t provide tracking, that email will say so, rather than leave you waiting for a number that’s never coming.
5 Address accuracy and failed delivery
Please check your address and phone number before you pay. We print and ship to exactly what you entered, and the courier will call the number you gave us.
What happens if a delivery fails. The courier makes the first attempt and then, if it can’t deliver, normally up to three more attempts before sending the parcel back to us. Different courier companies have different reattempt policies, so we can’t promise you an exact number of tries — that’s the carrier’s rule, not ours.
If the parcel comes back to us undelivered, we’ll contact you and send it out again free of charge — the first time. If the address we printed matches what you gave us, you’ve done nothing wrong by being out when the courier called, and we’re not charging you freight for that. Tell us when to try again, or give us a different address, and it goes back out at our cost.
Freight lands on you only in two situations, and both are ones we can’t absorb twice:
- a second failed delivery to the same address, or
- an address that was wrong or incomplete when you gave it to us — we printed and shipped exactly what you typed, and we can’t sell a keychain with your name on it to anyone else.
In either case we’ll tell you the freight amount before we send it, and you decide. We’d much rather send you your order than have it sit on a shelf here, so if the cost is the problem, write to us — see §10.
We cannot change a shipping address after dispatch. Before dispatch, email support@bombay3dstudio.com and we’ll change it if we can.
6 Damaged, lost, or never arrived
That’s on us, not on you. If your parcel arrives damaged, or it doesn’t arrive at all, see /legal/refund §4 — you get a free replacement or a full refund, your choice, and we pay the shipping either way.
Two timings matter, and they’re both there to protect the claim rather than to catch you out:
- Damaged parcel: send us a photo of the packaging within 48 hours of delivery. Transit damage becomes impossible to tell apart from later damage once time passes.
- Never arrived: tell us within 15 days of dispatch. This one has a hard reason behind it. Our own claim against the courier expires on a fixed deadline from the day they picked the parcel up, so if you tell us late, our ability to chase it is already gone. Fifteen days leaves us enough runway to actually file.
If you’re outside either window, still write to us. We’d rather look at your problem than turn you away on a technicality — we just can’t promise the same outcome once the courier has closed the door on us.
7 Packaging
Small orders ship in a padded mailer; larger and gifting orders ship boxed with each piece individually wrapped. If you’re sending pieces as gifts to different people, tell us at checkout or by email and we’ll pack them separately at no extra cost.
8 International shipping
We don’t ship outside India. If you’re abroad and want something sent to someone in Maharashtra, that works fine — order as normal with their Maharashtra delivery address (§1).
9 Bulk and corporate orders
Volume orders don’t run on the timelines in §3. Every volume run is scheduled, not queued: you get a written production and delivery calendar with your quote, and you approve it before we start printing. Nothing goes onto a machine on a “we’ll see” basis. Talk to sales@bombay3dstudio.com or see /bulk.
10 Questions
Email support@bombay3dstudio.com and we’ll come back to you within one working day (Monday to Friday, as in §3.1). Every message gets an automatic reply with a reference number straight away, on any day of the week, and a person picks it up after that.
If a shipping problem isn’t being resolved, our grievance officer is:
- Name
- Jagdeep Nagpal
- Designation
- Proprietor
- Address
- JP Designs (trading as Bombay 3D Studio), Nagpal House, 35th Road, Khar West, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400050
We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and resolve it within one month. In practice the acknowledgement is immediate — writing to either address above gets you an automatic reply with a ticket reference within moments, and a person picks it up after that.
